Glacial lakes abound in Iceland! Formed by retreating glaciers and are mostly located along the south coast. The lakes are notable for their various colors as the glacial ice if filled with sediment and are often murky with colors ranging from pale blues and greens to brown. Wherever there is a glacier outlet there is a good chance to find a lake at its base!
