The Corolla Wild horses are descendants of Spanish Mustangs from the 1500's. They roam freely in Corolla and Carova beaches accessible only with 4- wheel drive vehicles. They number around 120 and easily seen in early morning or late afternoons. To see them running along the beach or in the dunes is truly a treat!
